HISTORY IN THE MAKING. Soweto Rock Festival 2026 brings Soweto’s first dedicated rock festival to Sawubonamusicjam in Chiawelo. Soweto Rock was born in the backyards – small four-room spaces where passion met persistence. With no proper venues or live sound systems, we built our own stages, borrowed PAs, and turned backyards into arenas. That’s how the culture began – rock therapy shows, backyard shows, and the unstoppable spirit of Soweto’s rockers.
