Back for round eight, Late Night Barcade is turning up the volume and the vibes at Barcadia! On 21 November, we’re stoked to feature the blistering energy of Petrol Station Pies alongside the dreamy grit of we’re alright.
Petrol Station Pies
Their name itself evokes instant imagery: stop at the petrol station, grab a pie – the everyday, spontaneous, late-night fix. It’s this immediacy and local flavour that they channel into their sound. Cape Town’s no-holds-barred rock outfit hit Barcadia in November. From snarling riffs and punk-fueled swagger to psychedelic bursts and garage-rock grit, they’ve carved their sound out of real nights, real energy, and real local life.
we’re alright is an indie rock band from Cape Town, South Africa, blending raw emotion with sharp, melodic songwriting. Known for their heartfelt lyrics, jangly guitars, and energetic live performances, the band crafts a sound that’s equal parts nostalgic and refreshingly modern. Drawing influence from alt-rock, post-punk revival, and the South African indie scene, We’re Alright tells stories of youth, chaos, love, and resilience — always with a sense of catharsis at the core.
