Pagan Freedom Day is a celebration of religious freedom and diversity among Pagans in South Africa.

Samhain, the Witches Official New Year is a Gaelic festival at the end of April marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter. It is the time of year when the earth has died and gone dormant. The Sabbat celebrates the cycle of death and rebirth. For many Pagan traditions, Samhain is a time to reconnect with our ancestors, and honor those who have died. This is the time when the veil between our world and the spirit realm is thin, so it’s the perfect time of year to make contact with the dead.

Join us for Pagan Freedom Day at Rusty Hook on Saturday 27th April from 7pm til late, as we eat, drink and celebrate the Official Witches New Year. Our hearts will beat to the drums, we will get our groove on with a dance performance, feast our eyes on an alternative fashion show and more!

We are funded entirely by donations through its supporters and from The Night Of The Dead ticket sales. We receive no donations from any public funds.
